Print & Distribution

Do you have a question about print and/or distribution? We have tried to think of any questions you may have on this topic. See these FAQs here

Q. Do you provide a print service?

A. Yes. We have a dedicated print partner who offer professional printing for all sizes and weight formats available from Leafletdrop.

Q. What is print ready artwork?

A. Print-ready artwork is the final file or files used by printers to produce your leaflets. The file(s) tick all the necessary requirements to produce high quality printed items. Click here to read more on Print-ready artwork.

Q. How much does the printing of my leaflets cost?

A. This will depend on the size, weight and quantity required. If you know this information already, then you can use our price calculator to give an accurate price of printing your leaflets.

Q. How long does it take to print my leaflets?

A. Printing dates depend on when your distribution has been scheduled. The printing and delivery of your leaflets to either Royal Mail or Whistl Home Networks for distribution usually takes around a week.

Q. Will I see a finished copy of my leaflet?

A. We will always check print quality on your behalf, and we’ll send you a copy of your printed item by post to the company address provided on your account.

Q. What size of leaflet can I order?

A. You can specify A4, A5 or A6 leaflets as double-sided (two sides) or folded (four sides). DL leaflets are available in two, four or six-sided format.

A4 - 210 x 297 mm

A5 - 148 x 210 mm

A6 - 105 x 148 mm

DL - 210 x 99 mm

Q. What paper weights can I order?

A. We offer four paper weight choices.

Standard (90gsm)

Premium (150gsm)

Premium Plus (170gsm)

Postcard (300gsm)

Q. What is the difference in paper weights?

A. Paper quality is described by weight in GSM (grams per square metre). The higher the gsm number, the heavier the paper. 90gsm is the weight of typical household printer paper. 150gsm stock is sturdier with a more premium feel and is often used for leaflets and flyers.

Q. What file type do I need to upload?

A. You will need to upload print ready artwork in the size you have ordered. The file type must be a PDF and fit in with one of our templates which can be downloaded before you upload your artwork.

Q. I am using the 'Print and Distribution' service. Will this affect the timings of my distribution dates?

A. No. You will need to select a date three weeks in advance for either service option and the printing will be completed within this time.

Q. Who delivers my leaflets to my target households?

A. Leafletdrop uses Royal Mail distribution which covers all 27 million UK households. This network is ideal for 100% coverage of your chosen areas to ensure maximum reach and is delivered alongside the householder’s addressed mail. On occasions, when Royal Mail coverage is not available on your chosen distribution dates, we will use Whistl Home Networks or contact you to arrange another suitable date.

Q. What is the Whistl Home Networks?

A. Whistl Home Networks covers 14 million UK households, typically more densely populated towns and cities. Your campaign is delivered by our dedicated team of distributors – either straight through the letterbox or alongside the local newspaper. Whistl Home Networks is only used when Royal Mail distribution is not available for your chosen campaign period.

Q. How long does it take for my leaflets to reach my target audience?

A. When scheduling your distribution, you will need to pick a date three weeks in advance to allow for Royal Mail to plan in the distribution. Your leaflets will then be delivered over a two week period from your chosen start week subject to availability. If there are any problems with availability, we will be in touch to select alternative dates.

Q. I don’t have a leaflet design yet, do you offer a design service?

A. Yes. We have a designer at the ready to provide you with a professional design for your leaflet. These are quoted individually but prices start from £200. Click here to find out more or contact us for a quote.
